Tomorrow morning will mark the end of our vacation, even though the rest of the family will get to enjoy the beach house vacation a few days longer. We will be wheels up around 8:15 AM headed back to California...and I will turn right around and head to Nashville on New Years Day.
It has been a ton of fun spending quality time with my whole side of the family. The best part, by far, has been watching the cousins interact with one another.
While Jordan is a little older than the rest, he does his own thing, and that's how he likes it.
Mia and Jayce are both 14, 3 months apart, and they get along great when they are together. Usually, it takes them some time to warm up, but Grandma and Grandpa woke them up at 5:30 AM on day 1 and took the 2 of them on a trip to Disney World, so they got on the same page pretty quickly this time around.
In addition to those 3, there are 5 more 3 and unders. The shrieks of joy, the pitter patter of tiny feet, and the occasional tears (usually Ace) resulting from wanting to play with the same toys at the same time, have all brought me great pleasure and will likely be my warmest memories from our time together this week (that and Sara getting the SheWee during our White Elephant gift exchange...click the link and read the Amazon reviews on those things...we laughed until we cried).
I'm glad we all got to share this experience together. Our time here will, no doubt, be talked about for years to come.
Based on the footsteps I hear above me, it sounds like nap time is over, which likely means we'll soon be taking one last trip out to the water.
