I didn't sleep much last night.
My mind was racing in 6317 different directions.
All good things.
Crappy timing though.
Especially since I got us gym memberships yesterday.
And set a 4:45 am wake-up call.
I paid the whole year in advance.
Got a nice discount, too.
Thanks stimulus check.
I couldn't/wouldn't have done it without you.
Now I have to get up by 5 to justify the money spent.
The gym isn't the answer to my struggles getting out of bed early.
Choosing discipline is.
So I created an environment where getting up is my only option.
Well, that's not entirely true.
I can get up and go to the gym.
Or I can waste much needed family resources.
That's not going to happen.
My family relies on me to be a better steward than that.
And I won't let them down.
This morning was fun.
No offense to pushups (I still did 100),
I sure have missed the squat rack.
And now, walking will be a real challenge for a couple of days.
Moral of the story:
If you have a behavior goal that you are struggling with, create an environment that will make it more painful not to do that thing.
Eloquently stated...I know...please forgive my morning brain.
If you want someone to speak more intelligently on the subject, this book is a good start.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go take a cold shower.
