Morning Brain...is that a real thing? For some reason, my brain doesn't like to think up new things to write about first thing in the morning. I don't know what that is. I definitely do my better thinking (I guess that's subjective) in the evenings. Maybe I can retrain my brain to operate at a higher level before first light if I can finally train myself to get up before the sun on a daily basis.
Something else I've been doing in the mornings: spending the last minute or so of my shower standing under cold water.
I've heard there are some proven scientific benefits. I haven't done my own research on that topic. Maybe I should. I am experimenting on myself so I guess that's kind of like doing the research.
I generally spend that minute refraining from shouting obscenities because that's almost the immediate reflex when turning the shower all the way cold...also the rest of the family is sleeping, and I don't want my kids to be scarred by dad screaming obscenities in the shower.
I sure hope the rumors are true and that there are actual benefits. Otherwise, I'm just torturing myself for no good reason. I guess we'll find out.
