Life Is A Team Sport
Updated: Nov 24, 2019
I'm up way past my bed time tonight, not that you care.
I chose to sleep in this morning until 7:15, again, you don't care.
The sleeping in was glorious, and not I'm tired...I know, you don't care.
Why am I up past my bedtime?
I'm glad you didn't ask, but I'll tell you anyway.
Because life is a team sport.
Our teenager isn't home year, and I'm still unsure of whether or not I get to go pick her up or if she's getting a ride. I complained about it briefly before I realized what I was doing, and realized I was breaking the no complaining rule, so I went for a little walk under the night sky to cool off...in more ways than one...it's not particularly warm out there.
I won't say that it's cold since we live in California, and I think it's silly to call 49 degrees cold. I don't want my brethren in the great white north to laugh at me. But I digress.
Life is a team sport, and no one person is more important than the team. The biggest detriment to a team, whether it is a family, a business group, or a sports team, is when an individual puts their own needs and desires above the collective needs of the group.
Be a good teammate. When the team succeeds, so do the individuals that are a part of it.
Life is a team sport.
We all have something to contribute, and we can't do it alone.
