I write this while sitting in my office at work, thinking about how cool it would be to have an office at home. We do have a desk with a laptop on it for a work space, in the dining room, which is right in the middle of the space that Ace and Hope use as their indoor playground...AKA the entire downstairs.
I feel for Mia when she is trying to get homework done downstairs while the toddlers are still awake...they are crazy people...and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I postponed writing this morning because I only had 2 chapters left to read in Color Blind, and I wanted to finish it. It was a great read.
Knowing that I had a supervision shift this evening at the school helped me justify altering my routine to finish the book. I generally share an office at work, but at this time of night, I get it all to my self.
I got to start my next book, Chop Wood Carry Water, by Joshua Medcalf, while the car was getting an oil change.
Wow. It's much thinner than the last few books I've read, but it gets to the point...lots of points...and all very good ones.
I took a lot of years off from reading, and I know that I won't get those years back. While I've always enjoyed it, I haven't prioritized it since I was in my early teens. My loss. I won't make that mistake again.
It's funny how priorities change when you start to pay attention to what is really important.
Now, in the words of the Great Luchador, Nacho Libre, "Go away! Read some books!"
PS I just completed my first book review on Color Blind. Read it here.
Legacy will have to wait. It will take significantly more time.
