You've probably heard it said that if it was easy, everyone would do it.
Being disciplined is not easy.
Over a month into my write every day project, I must admit, it isn't always easy. And there have been some days that I haven't wanted to do it, but I have honored my commitment.
The alarm clock went off before I was ready to get out of bed this morning (maybe because Ace decided to pee in his at 5 am) but I honored my commitment.
Hope pooped in her diaper today, so I changed it. Not because I wanted to, because it is one my responsibilities as a parent.
I have yet to regret sitting down to write even when I didn't want to. I have yet to think "I wish I would have hit the snooze button this morning." And I most certainly have never thought that Hope would have been better off if I just let her run around with a soiled diaper all day long.
Laziness doesn't get rewarded. Shirking responsibility doesn't get rewarded. Discipline gets rewarded. Diligence gets rewarded. Persistence and perseverance get rewarded.
Consistently doing the things that are difficult is uncommon.
It's not easy. If it was, everyone would do it.
