As a kid, I was always extra thankful for our Veterans.
For selfish reasons back then.
Veteran's Day meant that I always got a day off of school during my birthday week. For that reason, November 11th is an easy day for me to remember.
When I was younger, I never understood the weight of the sacrifices made by Veterans, and unless you have served, I'd imagine that it is something quite impossible to truly comprehend.
As an adult, I genuinely appreciate the men and women who have served and continue to serve in our country's military. And while I still enjoyed having a day off, getting to play a round of golf this morning and getting to take the kids to the park so mommy could have a break, I have a much deeper appreciation and respect for what Veteran's Day means.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you, to all of you veterans out there, for your part in providing us with the freedoms we get to enjoy here in the good old USA.
