At some point, my streak of writing every day will come to an end, and I will get to start a new one.
Today is not that day.
At some point, my streak of doing 250 push-ups a day will come to an end, and I will get to start a new one.
Today is not that day., though that day may be coming soon because my body hurts, and I think it might be a good idea to give it a rest sometime soon.
I'm closing in on 12 straight weeks of daily push-ups. I feel like that might be the right time to give myself an opportunity to recover. The jury is still out on that, though. I'll keep you posted.
Nobody is perfect. We all have an off day here and there. Every once in a while, everybody deserves some time to relax. Letting that day compound into a week, a month, a year, or a decade, is probably not a recipe for success.
Keep up with your good habits. Scheduling your cheat or your skip or your lazy days is a way that you can take a day off while not getting off track.
But if you do get off track, unscheduled, it's not the end of the world. As long as you don't let one day of sitting on the couch, binge watching whatever it is you fancy, turn into a decade of sedentary living, you're probably all right.
Everybody stumbles, it's how quickly you get back up and continue to move forward that counts.
