Yesterday was eventful.
Ace and I joined a fellow coach and his family for Monster Jam.
If you are interested in taking kids to a fairly bank account friendly afternoon of entertainment, take them to a monster truck rally.
Ace loved it.
He let me know every time a new monster truck came out that it was his favorite one. After the first run, he ripped his earmuffs off because "I want to hear them, Daddy!" They were pretty loud. He was yelling and screaming and pointing and cheering and he didn't miss a thing. He was as laser focused on the monster trucks as I've ever seen him with anything.
That is, until Jeff went and bought all of the boys little toy monster trucks. Ace got his original favorite, Megalodon, a monster truck designed to look like a great white shark. Then, he was busy driving his truck all over everything. It was a blast.
After we got home, it was a quick turn around, and we headed out with Sara and the girls to a BBQ with some friends.
For the past 3 years, we have spent Labor Day weekend on a big group camping trip. I think it's safe to say that many of us would have loved to be camping out and spending our weekend in the lake, and at least two of us would love to be trying to catch fish. However, spending time having fun, laughing, and conversing with good friends is really what it's all about.
It was also fun hearing how many of them regularly browse through my posts unbeknownst to me. Thanks for reading guys and gals.
Yesterday was a good day.
And yes, Ace brought his monster truck to the BBQ. It's logged quite a few miles already.
