Short one tonight, cause I'm tired, and it's time for bed.
I had a handful of unique conversations today. Several made me think and were, quite possibly, even worth writing about. However, there was a textversation with a freind (seriously...friend...duh) from my college days in Tennessee. She was a teacher, and her family was particularly good at loving on students.
We have kept in touch over the years, though I realized today when I reached out, that it had been over two years since we communicated. The brief text thread was perfect.
No specific quotes stand. It was the content of the interaction that made it special. When it was over, I felt loved, encouraged, and re-energized to keep fighting the good fight. She and her husband very intentionally live their lives in a way that positively impacts, encourages, and inspires anybody who is fortunate enough to come in contact with them.
I will not change their names to protect their innocence because they deserve every public display of honor that they have ever or will ever receive. Lee and Sarah Hibbett, thank you for the impact you have had on my life. Your actions are genuinely appreciated. All 3 people that read this likely won't know who you are, but at least they will know that you and your girls mean a great deal to me.
Keep fighting the good fight.
Impact. Encourage. Inspire.
Talking with Sarah today reminded me, it is important to honor those people that bring value to your life. Serving others is often a thankless job (not that those who serve do it for the recognition). Recognize people who have served you. The rare acknowledgements make all the difference.
