7/22/19 (Happy Birthday Mom)
Another daily e-mail list that I subscribe to comes from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). It's called the FCA Impact Play. Each morning, I get a daily devotional that helps me get started on the right track with a few bible verses, a related message and a prayer.
Yesterday's message was on Authority and Power, and it felt like it was meeting me me exactly where I am in life. It was a message I needed to hear.
It reminded me that god has a plan for me, "a plan to give me hope and a future" as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, one of my favorite Bible verses.
Hope is going on 18 months old, so that part is under control, I just haven't been very patient with the "future" part of that promise.
The message closed with this:
"Keep your ambitions in check. He's working with your best interest in mind. Conduct yourself with humility and follow God's plan for you. Trust Him to deliver you right on time."
"You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail."
Patience is a virtue, and a fruit of the Spirit that I'm usually pretty good with. Right now, I just need to take a step back, continue to Shred (Day 144), and trust that His timing is perfect, and His plan is in the work.
