Happy Father's Day to the Father's of the world. Especially mine. Your card isn't in the mail, but don't worry, mom/grandma will bring it to you.
I used my Father's Day morning to finish Keep Going for the 2nd time this month. I really like the way Austin Kleon delivers his message. I can't put a finger on exactly why, but I feel like we might be kindred thinkers to some extent.
I was first introduced to Austin Kleon by the One Percent Better Project podcast in his interview with host, Joe Ferraro. I listened to it over and over again, trying to figure out what exactly it was that I found so intriguing. During an e-mail exchange with Joe, he joked (I think he was joking) that if I listened to the episode anymore times, I may need to join a support group.
So I bought his latest book.
One of the things Kleon says in Keep Going is, "We need other people to help us think." Maybe that's why I'm drawn to his work. He inspires thought; he helps me think.
"These are the people I look to for inspiration. The people who found the thing that made them feel alive and who kept themselves alive by doing it. The people who planted their seeds, tended to themselves, and grew into something lasting."
What makes you feel alive? If you don't know, find someone who does and let them inspire you. If you do, then do it; keep the fire burning, and use it's light to Impact, Encourage, and Inspire others.
Additional thoughts inspired by this book on Day 98.
One of the things that makes me feel alive just came downstairs and informed me that it's Fodder's Day. His name is Ace, and he is pretty excited to bring me my card. Gotta Go.
