Sara had an ultrasound this morning. I hung out at home with the kids. They get a little restless at doctor's offices, so we choose our moments wisely.
The baby is officially 11 or 12 or 13 weeks along. Further confirmation that due dates are indeed an exact science.
We should get to hear the heartbeat next week, and we will find out the sex of the baby at the next ultrasound appointment. Ace and Hope are hopeful for a baby brother (I think Mia is indifferent), and the little ones and I will be in attendance to find out when that time comes. Ace still has his heart set on naming his baby brother Gooman. I'm not sure what he would be more upset about, another sister, or a brother named something other than Gooman.
Boy or girl, I will be happy. However, as a guy with 3 sisters who always wondered what it would be like to have a brother, I think it would be really neat if the kids got their wish.
Praying for a healthy mama during the pregnancy and a healthy baby, of course.
For what it's worth, the ultrasound doctor has determined that Sara has beautiful ovaries, so at least we've got that going for us.
