I subscribe to Ryan Holiday's blog.
If you haven't heard of him, click on his name, and you will be redirected to his page. He is the author of several wildly successful books (link will take you to his books) that I look forward to reading as I whittle away at my reading list.
Today, the message in my inbox posed the question:
The link will take you to the article (as will the links in the quotes below). Check it out.
I love this question. It is a question that is valid all the time, but especially in the current situation that many of us are enduring.
We all have a tremendous opportunity to choose alive time right now.
It looks different for everybody, I'm sure. But it is up to us as individuals to make the choice.
What are you choosing?
Choosing to play the victim of your circumstances is choosing dead time.
Don't fall into that trap.
It's not to late to choose alive time.
And choosing alive time shouldn't end with the quarantine.
Regardless of the circumstance we are all facing, I still think it's a pretty great time to be alive. And I, for one, can't express enough how truly grateful I am to get to spend the foreseeable future with my family, uninterrupted.
Life is for living.
