A Much Needed Nap: And Some Other Stuff
Updated: Feb 23
Today has been a day of sinus misery.
I woke up feeling like I got hit by a truck.
The good news is, all the garbage that has been stuck in my head for the past few months is finally starting to find its way out...I hope.
I drank some DayQuil to get myself through the morning and early afternoon. Since Friday practices are early, I decided to cancel my lesson and go home, with the hope of catching 30 minutes of shuteye before Hope woke up from her nap.
I sprawled out on the couch, but Sara insisted I go up to our bed. 2 1/2 hours later, I woke up feeling slightly better...like I got hit by an electric car instead.
Super thankful that my awesome wife let me do that. Which brings me to my advice for the day. Marry well. I know I did.
I learned today that if Ace was stranded on a desert island and could only bring 5 things, he would make sure he was entertained. Here is his list:
And the [wooden] bus with the bus people.
Hope just counted to 5 so we'll have to wait and see what she decides.
The priority of kids is amusing. Play, play, play, play, eat, play, play.
I'll finish with the story that Ace told us at the dinner table:
It was a dark and spooky night.
I was outside in my tent.
All of da sudden, I heard a loud noise.
It was a big scary dinosaur.
It came in the tent to get me.
And then daddy came and cut his tail off.
